Prime Big Deal Days: Seven Board Game Deals Worth Your Money
Update, October 8: Prime Big Deal Days has ended. The prices below were listed during the sale and may have changed, so check the current listing before you buy.
Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days ran through October 7, and most of the board game aisle is the usual parade: Catan and Azul at around 40 percent off, the same pair that turned up in June. The better question for your table is which listings don’t move often. We went through the roundups from Wargamer and Tabletop Bellhop and picked seven worth a look, starting with the one that has a clock on it.

A note on the numbers: Amazon’s own pages block our price checks, so every price and discount below comes from Tabletop Bellhop (updated the morning of October 6) or Wargamer (October 5). Prices move during an event, so confirm the number on the listing before you buy.
Spirit Island: $44.99, down from $64.99
Spirit Island is the cooperative game where the players are spirits of the island itself, pushing back against colonizing invaders, and it is the one on this list we’d move on first. Tabletop Bellhop shows $44.99 against a $64.99 list price, about 31 percent off, which matches Wargamer. Wargamer also says the game is going out of print soon because the license is changing hands. Board Game Wire reported that designer R. Eric Reuss declined to renew with Flat River Group, the parent of publisher Greater Than Games, and plans a complete art overhaul with a new publisher. Once the license ends, Flat River can only sell the stock it already has. We found no confirmed date or price for the redesigned edition, so this is a sale on the current printing, with the current art. For context, a $49.99 listing was a front-page deal on Slickdeals in July 2023. Find Spirit Island on Amazon.
Harmonies: $24.99, down from $39.99
Harmonies is a 2024 tile-laying game about building habitats, and 38 percent off is a deeper cut than it saw last October, when Tom’s Guide listed it at $29 from $34, about 15 percent off. At $24.99 now, it is about $4 under last year’s sale price. Find Harmonies on Amazon.
Dead of Winter: 32 percent off
Dead of Winter puts the group in a zombie apocalypse with food running low, and Wargamer notes the twist: one player may be working against everyone else. Tabletop Bellhop does not list a dollar price for it, so check the live figure. Find Dead of Winter on Amazon.
Unfathomable: 28 percent off
Wargamer describes Unfathomable as a Lovecraftian reskin of Battlestar Galactica, a game of hidden traitors on a ship in trouble, and notes that it normally carries a heavy price tag. That makes 28 percent off a real dent. It is a big-box game for a group that is willing to spend an evening on it. Find Unfathomable on Amazon.
A Feast for Odin: 21 percent off
A Feast for Odin is a Viking strategy game from Uwe Rosenberg, the designer behind Agricola and Patchwork. Tabletop Bellhop lists it 21 percent off, the smallest cut of the seven, and gives no dollar price. We’d call it a pick for players who already like heavy worker-placement games, not a first buy for a casual group. Find A Feast for Odin on Amazon.
Survive the Island: 43 percent off
Survive the Island (2024 Edition) is the light one: players race explorers toward safety while the island sinks and sea creatures close in. Tabletop Bellhop lists it at 43 percent off, one of the deeper discounts on the page, and it is an easy game to teach to a mixed table. Find Survive the Island on Amazon.
Please Don’t Burn My Village: $11.60, down from $24.95
This is the deepest cut among the prices we could confirm: $11.60 against a $24.95 list price, or 54 percent off, per Tabletop Bellhop. At that price it is a low-risk add to an order that is already going out the door. Find Please Don’t Burn My Village on Amazon.
RPG books and the rest of the aisle
Tabletop Bellhop also tracks several roleplaying discounts on Amazon: D&D’s Ravenloft: The Horrors Within at 42 percent off, the Arkham Horror RPG: Hungering Abyss starter at 34 percent off, and the Marvel Multiverse RPG core book at more than 60 percent off. Wargamer lists Catan, Azul and Splendor at about 40 percent off, and Tabletop Bellhop has Ticket to Ride at $29.99 from $39.99. Those games go on sale often, so they are fine buys but not urgent ones. We could not confirm any specific accessory discounts on Amazon, so we are not listing any. Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, Arkham Horror RPG starter, Marvel Multiverse RPG core book.
If only one of these goes in the cart, make it Spirit Island. The rest of the list comes down to taste and budget, but Spirit Island is the only one with a supply question hanging over it.
