Warhammer Day Is Saturday: Oath Fulfilled, a Free Scenario Card, and Limited Stock

Most people will remember the model. The part worth reading is on the back of the free card.

Warhammer Day is this Saturday, October 31, and Games Workshop has confirmed that stores will sell this year’s commemorative miniature, Oath Fulfilled. It is a Darkoath Warqueen for Age of Sigmar’s Slaves to Darkness range, first shown on Warhammer Community on October 5 as a scarred leader with an ornate shield and trophies and fetishes hanging from her belt. Games Workshop pitches her as either a leader for a Darkoath army or a painting challenge.

Here is the catch. In its Warhammer Day preview, Games Workshop says the miniature is only available while stocks last and tells players to ask their local store manager how to get one. If you want her, go early. One German outlet, Mein-MMO, lists the price as 32.50 euros and says she can still be ordered online. We couldn’t find a US price in Games Workshop’s own pages, and its articles say nothing about online sales, so check with your store before you plan around either one.

Now the card. Games Workshop is also handing out a free A4 art card with Darkoath Warqueen artwork on the front. The back carries a small scenario called Favour of the Ruinous Powers. Every time your model slays three enemies, you roll on a table. A 1 or 2 gives Rush of Vitality, a 3 gives Unnatural Speed, a 4 an Ensorcelled Axe, a 5 Lethal Precision, and a 6 Divine Favour. Games Workshop’s preview doesn’t say whether the card requires a purchase, so ask at the counter.

That is a table you can use in a casual game, and it turns one promotional model into a character with a little story attached. It is also an easy way to get a friend who has never touched the hobby to roll a die and care about what happens.

Stores are also planning in-store activities. The preview mentions painting tips from staff on skin, fur, metal and other textures, and a separate Warhammer Community piece suggests trying the Warhammer Tone Pro paints on her. Spend £95 (or local equivalent) and you can claim a Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 desk mat. Games Workshop is also leaning on video game announcements this week, which Windows Central has rounded up, but the tabletop event is the one you can walk into.

The same Warhammer Community piece points out that Chaos has been part of Warhammer since Warhammer Fantasy Battles in 1983, and that the 1990s brought a wave of Champion models themed to each of the gods. A Warqueen in the Darkoath style fits that line. The Mein-MMO writer even calls her a perfect barbarian for a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. That is one fan’s opinion, not an official claim, but a scarred warrior with a big shield will plausibly work at plenty of tables.

Our advice is simple. If you want the miniature, get to your store when it opens on Saturday, and take the card whether you buy the model or not. The model is a nice limited piece, but the card is the part you can use at a table the same night.
